Smoothies are all the rage and with good reason and you want to use them also to detox or lose weight and you may have been doing them for a while but nothing seems any different! You’re not slimmer, not feeling better, there’s no burst of energy or anything else and totally frustrated about it!

That’s because there are some common mistakes that are causing your smoothies to make you fatter and even more toxic. And here they are!

  1. Wow- thanks! I’m definitely putting too many ‘additives’ in my smoothie! I think I just want to pack as much of a punch in there as I can (and hide the taste of not so yummy ingredients, like spirulina!), and I’m sure this is why my GI tract doesn’t always feel so good a little while after drinking one! I’m going to try and simplify and see how I feel!

  2. Hi Jovanka! I do not do smoothies very often. I enjoy them but they leave me feeling hungry afterwards and I eat more and do not loose weight that way.

  3. Great content, and perfect for me, as I just purchased my Blendtec to make smoothies. I agree, that smoothies are easy to pack in the sugar without realizing it. I find that if I use fruit with greens, the smoothie still tastes sweet. But I have made mistakes of using hemp protein, chia seeds, almond butter, almond milk and pure vanilla…I take your point, too many ingredients!
