Healthy Sugar Alternatives

In the previous video (Check It Out Here) I spoke about the dangers of aspartame and all the crappy artificial sweeteners. Here, I’m about to give you some options of natural, low calorie sweeteners that you can use in your recipes and drinks.

So without further ado, let’s go to the video!

Which of these sweeteners have you tried? Do you have any tips about today’s topic. Leave a comment below and let’s start a conversation

  1. I love your videos Jovanka! I mentioned before I use granulated sugar and brown sugar in my homemade baked goods for our family. I use honey to sweeten my hot tea.

  2. I use cooked and skinned sweet potatoes! I cook and mash them, weigh out 140g each, and freeze them! I use them particularly for My “Healthy” ice cream. 140 g each of Frozen Very ripe banana, sweet potato, strawberries, or Mixed berries (I buy the triple berry blend of frozen black, blue, and raspberries). Put them all in my Vita-Mix with 1 scoop of Andrew Lessmans Pina colada Protein powder, and 1/2 cup of almond or coconut milk. I do the same thing for chocolate ice cream, but skip the berries and add 1 scoop of unflavored protein powder, 1 TSP of powdered carob, and 1 TSP of Unsweetened cocoa powder. Mixing pure maple syrup with a can of Chick peas, almond flour, baking powder, and soda, eggs, and processing it until it is a batter consistency is a great way to bake cakes and brownies too!
