Top 10 Superfoods You Should Eat Every Day

So what’s a Superfood?

Hmmmm….

If you ask 20 experts this question, you’d most likely get 20 different answers.

That is because there is no real standard on what “Superfood” really means.

To me a superfood is a compound that contains a high amount of different nutrients (phytonutrients, enzymes, vitamins, minerals) and that also has health benefits.

In other words, these are foods that make you look and feel SUPER!

Check out the video below to learn about these 10 Superfoods you should eat every day.

So tell me, which ones of these superfoods do you consume every day? Which one are you most likely to try next?

  1. I eat berries, seeds (chia and flax) and spinach every day in my smoothies. I eat avocados several times a week, either in salads or in my smoothies. I also love adding sunflower and pumpkin seeds to salads. I eat kale several times a week in my smoothies, too. I used to put a piece of kombu into soups or stews as they cooked, but I haven’t done that in a long time and I don’t regularly eat any other sea vegetables. I rarely eat sweet potatoes, but I do enjoy them. I eat pecans several times a week, but not any other nuts (allergies). I love quinoa and beans and I eat them several times a week, too. Quinoa is really yummy as a breakfast food :).

  2. Hi Jovanka! I’m so glad I discovered your channel on you tube because everything you posted is so interesting. I have a question for you, if I can ask… How many nuts or seeds can I eat on a daily basis to get benefits out of them? I know that nuts are high in calories so what is the best amount of them (almonds too, I think they are considered a superfood too) to not gain weight? Thanks! and…forgive my english I’m Italian- 😉

    1. Hey Elena! Thanks for the support. A handful of nuts is all you need to get all their health benefits (6-12 pieces). With seeds you can have a bit more, or what you can fit in the palm of your hand. And they are not that high in calories (1 cup of walnuts has 180 calories approx.). They are high in beneficial oils so with them, a little goes a long way. Thanks!
