Ayurveda is an ancient practice that literally means “Science of Life”. It has been practiced in India for thousands of years and it is becoming increasingly popular in the western world as people move towards finding alternative treatments to compliment western science and prevent diseases.
I have always been very curious about the benefits of Ayurveda, Ayurvedic body types, Ayurvedic products and its wonderful uses.
So I asked my fellow health coach and friend Nadya Andreeva, a self-described modern Ayurveda girl, to come to my aid and help answer my (and probably your) basic Ayurveda questions here.
Nadya has gracefully agreed to let me pick her brain so you and I both can learn a little bit more about Ayurveda and how it can help us.
Check out the video here!
Amazing, right!?
If you’re still curious about Ayurveda, please leave a comment below. I’ll make sure to ask Miss Nadya and share her answers with you here!
Thank you, Jovanka, for this info!
As always, you are bringing topics that are so interesting and more people should look into.
Hugs,
Llyane
Love Ayurveda and Nadya did a great and interesting. I am happy to follow her on Spinach and Yoga. Jovanka you have terrific energy and did a great interview!
Just saw the show on ABC and of all the diets I was very interested in your diet and looked forward to things you would have done. You never mentioned Ayurveda but I knew that’s what it was. I am on a beginning path of Ayurveda and I am so interested. I immediately looked you up. I need it simplified for me. It’s a holistic lifestyle and not a diet that’s what intrigues me. That oil you had her put on her body, what kind was it? I know sesame oil is Tridoshic. Why do that and how do you do that? I read Deepak Chopra and he mentioned it briefly but I never knew exactly why and how.
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, it was Ayurveda though the show edited it out because it’s a hard word for people to understand (yet). And yes, my plan is a lifestyle, diet is just one part of it. We’ll let you know soon the type of oil we use. Stay tuned for a video blog on the topic. xoxo
